Post Warranty HP Care Pack Services are support packages that renew your HP product’s existing support whether it be an HP standard warranty or HP Care Pack Service.

HP Guideline Enforcement
HP has been undergoing system upgrades to its HP Care Pack Services. Once the system fixes are implemented, the new HP Care Pack system will be able to enforce validation against Post Warranty HP Care Pack registration attempts to products with coverage period that has expired more than 30 days. Any attempts to register the product with a Post Warranty HP Care Pack Service will generate an error message. The end user will need to purchase an HP Contractual Service to renew the product’s support.

HP Return to Support Fee
For products with coverage period that has expired more than 30 days, the end user must also pay an HP Return to Support fee in order to be eligible for an HP Contractual Service. The HP Return to Support fee equals HP’s current monthly support charge for each product you wish to add to your support contract, multiplied by the number of months the product has been without support coverage, less any applicable discounts the end user is entitled to receive as an HP Support customer.

Suppose an HP Proliant server has an HP warranty (or HP Care Pack service) that expired sixteen months ago from the present date and the end user wants to renew the server’s HP support. The server is only eligible for HP Contractual Service and not eligible for Post Warranty HP Care Pack Service. The end user must pay an HP Return to Support fee based on 16 months that the product’s support or warranty coverage lapsed plus the HP Contractual service.
